Lockdown has completely changed the way we shop and for most of us has put a halt on our spending. Now that we’re no longer seeing anyone there isn’t that burning need to wear something new or to have the latest pieces. Instead, our workout clothes and pyjamas have become our staples and our supermarket spending has surpassed everything else.
For me, I’ve spent a lot of time this year culling my wardrobe. Spending so much time at home has made me realise how much I have but also how little I really need. I’ve noticed that what I’m wearing the most are the key investment pieces, the simple things that cost a little extra but have stood the test of time. It’s made me want to move away from buying more and instead start saving for bigger purchases that will last longer.
I wanted to share a few investment bags for 2021 as I think accessories are a good place to start. I’ve been guilty of picking up a few bags at Topshop for the season but they never last very long. Instead, these are well made, classic styles that will still be wearable when lockdown is over.
